Carlos González, the former president of Córdoba CF, is facing nine years in prison for alleged crimes of embezzlement, document forgery and business corruption. The case against González, who was president of the club between 2011 and 2018, is a result of his management of the club. González is accused of possible embezzlement, document forgery, appropriation of funds and business corruption. The case is being heard by the Second Section of the Provincial Court of Córdoba, with nine sessions scheduled to complete the oral hearing. The prosecution is seeking nine years in prison for González, who is also accused of being responsible for the anomalies in his management of the club. The case was initially archived in 2023, but a prosecution appeal led to the case being reopened. González has already received a conviction for the 'case chalé', for which he and Jesús León were sentenced to four years in prison for allegedly using funds from Córdoba CF to pay for a renovation of González's private home. González also received a new judicial setback in October, when the Supreme Court rejected his appeal to annul the sale of Córdoba CF's productive unit to Infinity, a process that changed the club's history in 2019 and set a legal precedent in Spanish football.
